I am one of those people that like the concept of instant gratification when shopping.  I like that I can purchase something, and immediately hold it in my hands and use the item, whether it is a piece of technology or a cooking accessory.  This is not unlike what customers expect when they want to access an application on the network.

We live in a hyper-converged, micro-service driven, and on-demand world.  You may agree with that statement, but do we really understand what it means?

Orchestrating and Automating My Holiday Shopping

This holiday season, I purchased most of my gifts online.  The process was easy and informative every step of the way.  From browsing the items and pictures on the various websites to checking out and tracking the shipments, everything was automated and coordinated.  I had to do little but sit and relax with all the time that I would have spent driving from store to store and fighting the holiday crowds.

We designed and implemented SLB and GSLB technologies to create an architecture that makes applications available anytime and anywhere.  This was a key step to the virtualization of the application infrastructure.  The physical location of the servers and datacenters became less important as we used these technologies to enable optimal access to the application.
